Hi, I’m Wanjun Evers, founder of Hilversum International Cheerleading Academy, who married to a Dutch guy and mom of two.
I knew nothing about cheerleading until my daughter fell in love with it. Watching her grow through this sport showed me how powerful cheerleading truly is: confidence, teamwork, discipline, and a community like no other.
With my background in tech and professional services, I believe every club no matter its size, it deserves to be run professionally.That’s the standard I bring to the club every day, with clear governance, strong policies, and a warm, supportive culture at the centre.
We’re proud members of Cheersport Netherlands (CSN) and the International Cheer Union (ICU), and our certified coaches bring experience from the Dutch national team. At our club, all staff, coaches, and myself hold a valid VOG (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag), our structure and heart go hand in hand, creating a safe, joyful, and truly professional environment for every athlete.

My name is Ariel, and I’m thrilled to be the head coach for our Competition Team. For the past 15 years, I’ve dedicated myself to the sport I love most—cheerleading. It has taught me confidence, resilience, and that the strongest teams are built on trust, respect, and encouragement.
Originally from Malaysia, I moved to the Netherlands in 2018. I am ICU‑certified, a board member of the Cheersport Netherlands (CSN), and an active member of the Dutch National Cheerleading Team with extensive International Cheer Union (ICU) competition experience. Since arriving in the Netherlands, I’ve founded two cheerleading teams, coached four competitive teams, and continue to compete as an athlete on the national team.
Throughout my cheerleading journey, I’ve learned lessons that go far beyond the sport itself. Today, I’m passionate about sharing those experiences with others.
My goal is for every student to leave class feeling inspired, proud of what they’ve accomplished, and excited to keep learning.
Whether you’re trying cheerleading for the first time or looking to grow your skills, I hope you’ll discover the same joy and sense of belonging that cheer has given me.
