Competition Team
Cheerleading is a professional sport that competes internationally, with athletes representing their clubs and countries at major global events.
Thats why we take our competition team seriously. Success in this program requires commitment from all sides. From the club, we are dedicated to providing the highest‑quality coaching, led by our head coach who designs a structured training curriculum aimed at preparing the team for national competitions and other major events. Competition gives athletes and the team a clear goal to work toward and helps them grow in skill, discipline, and confidence.
From the athletes, achieving these goals requires demonstrating the core values we promote in our club: teamwork, perseverance, and continuous growth. Every athlete plays a crucial role in the team’s progress and performance.
And finally, none of this is possible without the support of parents. Your encouragement, reliability, and partnership are essential to helping athletes stay committed, prepared, and motivated throughout the season.
Every year, we are aiming to participate in at least two mandatory competitions this season. Additional competitions may also be offered as optional opportunities. These will be communicated well in advance to ensure we have enough athletes committed to compete as a full team.
Mandatory Competitions

The Lowlands Open Cheer Competition is an international open cheerleading event hosted in the Netherlands. Unlike the Dutch National Championship, which is restricted to CSN (Cheersport Netherlands) registered teams, the Lowlands Open welcomes clubs from across Europe and beyond, creating a diverse and highly competitive environment.
The competition follows international scoring and safety standards, making it an excellent opportunity for athletes to gain experience on a broader stage. Teams compete in various divisions, showcasing stunts, tumbling, jumps, and routines judged by an international panel.
For competition teams, the Lowlands Open provides valuable exposure, a chance to measure performance against international teams, and an additional competitive goal outside the national championship. It is often used as preparation for NK Cheerleading or other major events.

Dutch National Championship
The Dutch National Cheerleading Championship (NK Cheerleading) is the official national competition for cheerleading in the Netherlands. It is the highest‑level domestic event where CSN‑registered teams from across the country compete for national titles.
Organised and governed by the Cheerleading Society Netherlands (CSN), the championship is open only to athletes who are CSN members, trained under CSN‑aligned safety and coaching standards, and part of a recognised Dutch cheerleading club. This ensures fairness, safety, and consistent judging across all divisions.
The NK is a key event in the cheerleading season because it crowns the official national champions, sets the benchmark for performance standards in the Netherlands, serves as a pathway for international selection including ICU competitions and provides athletes with a meaningful, high‑level competitive goal. For competition teams, NK is one of the most important competitions of the year.
Competition Comittements
As part of our club’s registration with CSN (Cheersport Netherlands), all athletes in the competition team are registered as CSN members. This membership is required for us to enter official CSN competitions, including the Dutch National Championship.
Competition Fees
Competition registration fees are not included in regular training fees.
Typical CSN competition fees range from €20–€50 per athlete, depending on the event.
Competition Dates
We ask families to commit to reserving all competition dates on their calendars to ensure athletes are able to participate. Exact dates and times will be provided at least three months in advance, giving everyone sufficient time to plan accordingly.
Attendance & Warning Policy
If an athlete misses any training session without providing prior notice, a formal warning will be issued. After three warnings, the athlete will be removed from the Competition Team. Consistent attendance is essential for team safety, routine consistency, and maintaining the competitive standard expected at the elite level.
Additional Training
In preparation for competitions, we may schedule extra training sessions. These will always be communicated well in advance to ensure they do not create unexpected financial pressure for families.
Uniform & Appearance Costs
Competition uniform and appearance costs (including bow, makeup requirements, etc.) are usually between €150–€250 per athlete.
Travel Costs
Travel to and from competitions is at your own expense, as families may choose their preferred transportation and schedule.
